Ferris State's Jose Perez Tabbed As GLIAC Men's Tennis Player Of Week
Big Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State University men's tennis standout Jose Perez (Quito, Ecuador) was chosen as this past week's Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Player of the Week.
Perez had a big day for the Bulldogs in FSU's 5-2 road setback to nationally-ranked Indianapolis last Sunday (Feb. 1). Perez beat the nation's #21-ranked player at two singles, posting a 7-6, 6-3 triumph to get Ferris State on the board. After garnering the league's weekly player of the week crown, Perez also helped the Bulldogs over the weekend to a pair of home wins at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center. FSU beat Spring Arbor by a 7-0 score in the home opener on Friday (Feb. 7) before topping Findlay by a 5-2 score in regional action on Saturday (Feb. 8).
FSU continues a five-match homestand with three additional home matches this coming week versus Walsh on Friday (Feb. 13), Calvin on Saturday (Feb. 14) and McKendree on Sunday (Feb. 15) in Big Rapids.
