Ferris State Tennis Squads Come Away With Saturday Split Against Findlay

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's tennis squads earned a Saturday (Feb. 7) split against the University of Findlay in regional play at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center.

The Bulldog women suffered a 5-2 setback in the opening match of the day before the men came back to win by the same margin in the finale.

With the win, the men improved to 3-1 overall this year and the women fell to 2-1 this campaign.

The Oilers took the doubles point in the women's contest and proceeded to win four of the six singles flights on the day. FSU got wins from Madeline Peisley at one singles and Ayva Johnstone at four singles in the setback.

Meanwhile, in the men's tilt, Ferris State rallied after falling in doubles play and captured five of six singles contest. UF's lone win in the singles round came at the third flight as FSU captured four of the other five matches in straight sets.

Ferris State will continue its homestand on Friday (Feb. 13) as both teams host Walsh in regional play in Big Rapids with the women's match starting at 10 a.m. (ET) followed by the men's outing at 2 p.m. (ET).
