Big Home Series This Weekend As Ferris State Hockey Hosts Lake Superior State

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's ice hockey team returns to action at home this weekend (Feb. 14-15) following a bye week with a Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) series against Lake Superior State inside the Ewigleben Ice Arena.

The Bulldogs will take on the Lakers to open the weekend on Friday evening with puck drop set for 7:07 p.m. (ET). The weekend finale on Saturday is slated for a 6:07 p.m. (ET) start.

The two games this weekend will have implications on the conference standings as LSSU currently sits in sixth place just in front of FSU in the league race with only six games remaining in regular-season play for both teams.

Friday night's contest is billed as "Sweetheart Night" with a special Valentine's Day theme.

On Saturday evening, the Bulldogs will hold the annual "Red Out" event sponsored by the sports communication program in support of women's heart health. Donations will be collected along with a silent auction to benefit the Corewell Health Big Rapids Hospital's Cardiac unit. FSU will also be wearing its red road jerseys for the weekend series and fans are encouraged to wear red on Saturday night.

This year marks FSU's 50th season of hockey and 47th season of NCAA Division I hockey action. It is also the Bulldogs' 33rd and final campaign under longtime head coach Bob Daniels, who notched his 500th career head coaching victory this past fall and recently announced his upcoming retirement at the end of the 2024-25 campaign.
