Ferris State Men's Golf Sits Third After Two Rounds At GLIAC Championships

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's golf team currently sits third overall after day one at the 2026 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships held on Thursday (April 16) at Stonehenge Golf Club in Augusta, Mich.

The Bulldogs shot a two-round 572 team score in Thursday's opening two rounds of action at the league championships, shooting a 284 team score in round one followed by a 288 total in round two for a +4 figure of 572 overall thru 36 holes of the 54-hole stroke play portion of the championship.

Presently, Grand Valley State holds down first place with a 542 team figure followed by Davenport in second place at 565 overall in the nine-team field.

Individually, FSU's Ethan Frost is tied for fourth place on the leaderboard with a -3 figure of 139 overall. He added a 68 in round one followed by a 71 in round two.

The Bulldogs' Ben Miller is tied for 14th overall at 143, shooting scores of 70 in round one and 73 in round two.

Ferris State's Kole Putnam came in tied for 24th thru two rounds, carding a 74 in the opening round and a 71 in the second 18 holes of play.

FSU's Sam Havey is tied for 29th overall at 148 overall, notching a first-round 72 and a 76 in the second round.

Also, Ferris State's Zach Spencer is tied for 36th individually at 150 for the tournament. He shot a 77 in round one and came back with a 73 in the second round of play.

The third and final round of play is set for Friday (April 17) beginning at 8:30 a.m. (ET). The top two teams following the third round will advance to the medal match play championship later on Friday afternoon.
