Ferris State Tied For 13th In Highly-Competitive Field At Citrus Intercollegiate
Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's golf team closed day one action in a tie for 13th place overall at the Citrus Intercollegiate, which began on Monday (Oct. 27) at Championsgate Golf Club in Championsgate, Fla.
The Bulldogs shot a 309 team score in the opening round and were currently in the process of finishing round two play when action was halted on the first day of the three-round event. FSU had a 593 team figure after day one.
The field of 14 teams includes a total of 11 nationally-ranked squads, including #42 Ferris State. The Bulldogs are the lone Northern school taking part in the tournament.
On the individual leaderboard, FSU's Ben Miller is currently tied for 32nd overall at +5 for the tournament. Kole Putnam is also in the top 40, tied for 39th at +7 overall.
Meanwhile, Michael Fenech is tied for 51st at +9 overall while Sam Havey is tied for 59th with a +11 total. Finally, Ethan Frost currently sits 72nd with a +17 score.
The final round of the event, which wraps up the fall season for FSU, is set for Tuesday (Oct. 28).
