Men's Golf Moves Up Two Spots To Finish Sixth At Doc Spragg Invite
Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's golf team moved up two spots to finish sixth overall as play concluded on Tuesday (Oct. 14) at the Doc Spragg Invitational hosted by the University of Findlay. The event took place at the Findlay Country Club in Ohio.
The Bulldogs shot a final-round 293 team figure on Tuesday to wrap up the 54-hole event with an 875 team score. FSU shot a 290 in round one and a 292 in round two and finished at +11 for the tournament.
Individually, FSU's Kole Putnam tied for 10th in the field with a 215 total after three rounds. He carded a 73 on Tuesday after opening with scores of 71 in each of the first two rounds on Monday.
FSU's Ben Miller placed tied for 24th with a 219 score, shooting a 75 in round three after back-to-back scores of 72 in day one competition.
Meanwhile, Sam Havey tied for 39th with a 222 figure as he finished with a 74 in the last round. He shot identical 74 scores for all three rounds of the event.
The Bulldogs' Ethan Frost came in tied for 43rd at 223 overall, notching a 72 in the final round of play. He opened with a 76 in round one before firing a 75 in the second round.
Finally, Ray Dress placed tied for 61st overall at 226 for the 54 holes. Dress shot a 74 in the last round following scores of 73 in round one and 79 in round two.
The Bulldogs will close out the fall schedule on Oct. 27-28 at the Citrus Intercollegiate in Championsgate, Fla.
