Bulldog Men's Golf Sits Eighth Overall After Day One At Doc Spragg Invite

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's golf team opened action in eighth place overall after day one competition on Monday (Oct. 13) at the Doc Spragg Invitational held at the Findlay (Ohio) Country Club.

FSU posted a first-round 290 team score and came back with a 292 effort in round two for a 582 total at six-over par thru 36 holes of play. Host Findlay leads the field with a 566 score followed by Missouir-St. Louis in second place at 569 overall. A total of 17 teams are taking part in the 54-hole tournament.

The Bulldogs were paced by Kole Putnam, who is tied for 10th on the leaderboard at two-under par with a 142 score. He carded back-to-back scores of one-under 71 in each of the first two rounds of action.

FSU's Ben Miller is tied for 19th following day one play with a 144 score as he notched identical rounds of even-par 72 for each of the two rounds.

Ferris State's Sam Havey shot a 74 in each round and is tied for 42nd overall with a 148 figure while Ethan Frost is presently tied for 59th at 151 overall. Frost shot a first-round 76 and came back with a 75 in round two.

Finally, Ray Dress is tied for 66th on the leaderboard at 152 for the tourney, shooting a 73 in the opening round and a 79 in the second round of play.

The final round of play gets underway on Tuesday (Oct. 14) starting at 9 a.m. (ET).
