Ferris State Picked Sixth Overall In GLIAC Men's Basketball Preseason Poll

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's basketball squad has been picked to finish sixth overall in the 2025-26 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Preseason Coaches Poll announced on Wednesday by the league office.
The Bulldogs tallied 57 total points in finishing sixth in balloting by the league's member head coaches.
Defending regular season conference champion Michigan Tech earned the top spot in the preseason poll. The favorite Huskies received 10 first-place votes, totaling 100 points. Northern Michigan was selected to place second, collecting 85 and one first-place vote.
Parkside polled third overall (80 points) followed closely in the rankings in fourth is Grand Valley State (74 points).
Lake Superior State was chosen fifth (59 points) followed closely by Ferris State (6th, 57) and Wayne State (7th, 51).
Saginaw Valley State (8th, 34 points), Purdue Northwest (9th, 26 points), Davenport (10th, 20 points) and Roosevelt (11th, 19 points) rounded out the preseason poll.
The Bulldogs will host Calvin University in exhibition play on Wednesday, Oct. 29, with tipoff set for 7 p.m. (ET) inside Jim Wink Arena.
The Ferris State men's basketball program has a long track record of success that includes more than 1,300 all-time victories, 17 GLIAC Championships and 18 NCAA Tournament appearances along with a national championship in 2018. Since 2004, the Bulldogs have reached the NCAA Division II Sweet Sixteen five times and won 13 GLIAC regular season or tourney titles. FSU reached the NCAA Tournament for the ninth time in the last 11 years this past season and won 20 games or more for the 10th-straight full season.
