Ferris State Head Coach Andy Bronkema Moves Into Second Place On Program's All-Time Victory List

Big Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State University men's basketball head coach Andy Bronkema, who is currently in his 12th season at the Bulldog helm, recently moved into second place on the school's all-time career victory list.

Bronkema was appointed as the school's 13th men's basketball head coach prior to the 2013-14 campaign and has led FSU to 20 wins or more in each of the past nine full seasons of action. His current squad holds a 14-1 overall record and is ranked fourth nationally.

Overall, Bronkema holds a 268-97 (.734) mark to date in his head coaching career and moved past former Ferris State head coach and Bulldog legend Tom Ludwig into second place on the program's all-time chart. He trails only legendary coach Jim Wink's 337 career wins among Ferris State's all-time men's basketball coaches.

In addition to surpassing the 20-win mark nine times to date, Bronkema has also led Ferris State to the NCAA Division II Tournament eight times in the past 10 years. The Bulldogs captured the 2018 NCAA Division II National Championship and last year won the Midwest Regional to advance to the D2 Elite Eight for the second time in his tenure.

Bronkema, who was tabbed as the D2 National Coach of the Year in 2018, has also led the Bulldogs to four GLIAC Regular Season Championships along with five of the program's six GLIAC Tournament Championships during his FSU career. He also served as an assistant coach on the FSU staff during back-to-back league title seasons in 2010-11 and 2011-12.

Ferris State will host West Michigan rival Grand Valley State in conference action on Thursday (Jan. 9) night beginning at 7:30 p.m. (ET) inside Wink Arena. The Bulldogs then host Davenport on Saturday (Jan. 11) at 1 p.m. (ET).
