Ferris State Closes Out Preseason Slate With Home Win Over Calvin

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's basketball squad closed out the preseason in an impressive way, beating West Michigan counterpart Calvin University by a 78-69 score on Friday (Nov. 3) evening inside Jim Wink Arena.

The Bulldogs trailed 45-37 at halftime and were down by 10 with 16 minutes to go, but responded for the victory. FSU outscored the Knights 41-24 in the second half.

Calvin was ranked 10th in the D3Hoops.com Preseason National Rankings and led by head coach Bill Sall, who formerly served as Ferris State's head coach from 2002-13.

The Bulldogs were led by junior guard Ethan Erickson with 19 points while senior guard Ben Davidson added 18 points. FSU also got 14 points and 10 boards from newcomer DeSean Munson.

Ferris State will tipoff the regular season on Nov. 10-11 when the Bulldogs travel to Painesville, Ohio, for a regional crossover event. FSU will face former GLIAC rival Northwood in the season opener on Nov. 10 before meeting host Lake Erie in the weekend finale on Nov. 11.

The Bulldogs' regular-season home opener is set for Wednesday, Nov. 15, versus Cleary at Wink Arena, beginning at 7 p.m. (ET).
