Record-Breaking 224 Ferris State Student-Athletes Earn GLIAC All-Academic Team Honors
Big Rapids, Mich. - A record-breaking total of 224 Ferris State University student-athletes have achieved Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) All-Academic & All-Academic Excellence Team honors for the 2025-26 athletics campaign as announced by the league office.
The Bulldog student-athletes represent 16 of Ferris State's 18 varsity programs, excluding NCAA Division I men's ice hockey, which competes in the CCHA, along with the new STUNT program, which is a member of the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Including those sports, more than half of FSU's approximate 450 student-athletes have or are expected to be honored for their academic success this year.
Ferris State's 224 total honorees is the Bulldogs' most for a single campaign under the current all-academic format. In total, over 2,500 all-academic honors were bestowed on student-athletes from across the GLIAC.
Criteria states the student-athlete must be an active member on the roster at the end of the season, not a freshman or a first year transfer student. All-Academic Teams are comprised of those student-athletes that meet criteria and carry a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0-3.49. Academic Excellence Teams are comprised of student athletes that have a cumulative GPA of 3.50-4.0.
In total, the Bulldogs finished the 2025-26 athletics season with student-athletes featured on either the fall, winter or spring all-academic teams based on the sport. FSU had 95 athletes honored in five fall sports along with 45 in four winter sports and 84 across seven spring sports.
Additionally, nearly 70% of the Bulldogs' 224 total honorees received recognition at the highest level as 155 were academic all-excellence team choices and 69 were all-academic choices.
