Ferris State Hosts Findlay In D2 Midwest Regional Championship Game Tuesday At Wink Arena

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's basketball squad will square off against the Findlay Oilers in the 2018 NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Championship Game on Tuesday (March 13) inside FSU's Jim Wink Arena.

Tipoff for the title game between the two former Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) rivals is set for 7 p.m. (ET) with a large crowd expected in Big Rapids.

The top-seeded Bulldogs beat eighth-seeded Ohio Dominican in the first round of the national tournament on Saturday evening by a 75-57 count before handling league rival Lake Superior State in decisive fashion 94-71 on Sunday night.

Meanwhile, the third-seeded Oilers topped Drury (Mo.) 84-65 in round one and then pulled out a thrilling 74-73 triumph over second-seeded Bellarmine (Ky.) in the semifinals in a rematch of last year's regional title contest.

Tuesday's matchup will be the second meeting of the year between the two programs. FSU topped Findlay 69-68 back on Nov. 25 in Big Rapids at Jim Wink Arena where FSU is now 21-0 at home to date this year and has won 27-straight contests dating back to last campaign.

The winner of Tuesday's regional title game in the Division II Sweet Sixteen will advance to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight set for March 20-24 in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Tickets for Tuesday's NCAA Regional final are $15 for adults and $10 for students. Tickets are available for purchase online at StarTickets.com or at the FSU Athletics Ticket Office located inside the Ewigleben Sports Complex. NCAA guidelines do not permit any complimentary tickets to be issued.

All seats are general admission and no regular-season passes of any type will be accepted per national tournament regulations.

The box office will be open Monday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and then reopen on Tuesday at 9 a.m. leading up to gametime.

The first 600 FSU students with a valid ID card can pickup free tickets starting Monday at 2 p.m. at the FSU Ticket Office in person.

Presently, the Bulldogs own a nation-leading 34-1 overall record to date this year while Findlay holds a 28-4 mark. The Oilers knocked FSU out of the national tournament a year ago with a victory in the regional semifinals in Louisville.

Overall, Ferris State's NCAA regional semifinal win on Sunday win gave the Bulldogs their school-record 22nd consecutive win this campaign.
