The nationally #2-ranked Ferris State University Bulldogs will host the #14-ranked Grand Valley State Lakers in the Anchor-Bone Classic on Saturday, Nov. 9, at FSU's Top Taggart Field. Kickoff for the game is set for 12:07 p.m. (ET) and it will be televised live by Fox Sports Detroit as part of "Football Week In Michigan." The contest is presented by the Schuberg Insurance Agency and Auto Owners Insurance.
The game will have major conference and postseason implications. Currently, the 9-0 Bulldogs have claimed at least a share of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championship and can win the outright league crown with a victory. Meanwhile, GVSU (8-1) can stay in the mix for at least a share of the title with a win on Saturday. FSU is ranked first in Super Region Three with the Lakers now sixth and the top seven teams at the end of the year earn D2 playoff berths.
Tickets for Saturday's game are currently on sale and fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance with a large crowd expected. Ticket prices for the premium game are $18 for all adults, senior citizens (age 65+) and FSU faculty/staff along with $10 for students age 5-17. Currently enrolled Ferris State students with ID will be admitted free for the football game by showing their student identification cards.
Fans can purchase tickets online 24 hours a day, seven days a week at www.StarTickets.com or call (800) 585-3737. Ticket sales thru StarTickets will end on Friday at 10 a.m. Tickets may also be purchased in person thru the FSU Athletics Ticket Office located inside the Ewigleben Sports Complex. The FSU ticket office is open Monday thru Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (ET) along with extended hours on Wednesday's until 7 p.m. (ET). The Wheeler Pavilion Gameday Ticket Office will open on Saturday at 9 a.m. Please call (231) 591-2888 for additional ticket information.
Parking lots will open at 8 a.m. (ET) on Saturday and no one may line up prior to the opening of the lots. Parking for Saturday's premium game will be $10 per car or $25 per oversized vehicle (bus, motor coach, motor home, trailer, etc.). Grand Valley State fans will are asked to tailgate in Lot 13 and Lot 1 on the FSU campus next to the University Center. Stadium Drive around the stadium is expected to be closed once Lot 37 is full by 10 a.m. Ferris State Football recruits who have registered with the coaching staff in advance should park in Lot 17. PREGAME TAILGATE INFORMATION:
Fans are invited to a special pregame football tailgate event on Saturday prior to the Anchor-Bone Classic rivalry game between Ferris State and Grand Valley State. The pregame tailgate spread will run from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday morning prior to the noon kickoff. The event, hosted by FOX Sports Detroit and Ferris State Athletics in Lot 35, has a cash-only $5 entry fee, which includes food and drink (brats, Detroit Coney dogs, Bulldog beans, potato salad, homemade chips, water, coffee and hot chocolate). Beer will also be included for those 21 and older with proof of ID, while it lasts. Children under the age of 10 will be admitted free.
During the tailgate event, Fox Sports Detroit will be on site with former Detroit Lions players Herman Moore and Joique Bell, a photo booth, great giveaways and the "Football Week In Michigan" bus. Saturday's game will be carried live across the country by Fox Sports Detroit and also carried by Fox College Sports. Fox Sports Detroit's Matt Shepard will call the play-by-play action for the game alongside former Michigan standout Devin Gardner with Brooke Fletcher as the sideline reporter. It will also be broadcast locally on radio by the Bulldog Sports Network and Sunny 97.3 FM with the veteran broadcast team of Rob Bentley (play-by-play) and Sandy Gholston (color) calling the action. The contest will also be streamed with live video and audio online at FerrisStateBulldogs.com. FSU will also provide live internet statistics and live social media upates on several platforms.
