Bulldog Cross Country Teams Post Strong Saturday Performances At Two Events

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's cross country teams jumped back into action with strong performances at two different competitions on Saturday (Oct. 10).

The Bulldogs sent both men's and women's athletes to the Northwood Invitational held at Currie Golf Course in Midland along with the inaugural Conference Cross-Over hosted by the Lewis University Flyers at the LU Cross Country Course in Romeoville, Ill.

While the Northwood event was a non-scoring competition, the regional crossover was scored with the Bulldog women taking fifth place and the men finishing sixth overall in a strong field.

In the competition at Lewis, the Bulldog men were led by junior Logan Hammer, who placed 15th in the 8K race in a time of 25:19.18. He was followed by sophomore Trevor Holowaty in 19th place (25:30.56) as FSU had a pair of student-athletes place in the top 20 overall.

Freshman Roan Fahey came in 32nd (26:08.64) with sophomore Hunter Nivison coming in 42nd overall (26:19.80) and sophomore Jake Morey 44th (26:23.56) among Ferris State's top five finishers.

On the women's side, the Bulldogs were led by Emily Haynes in 20th place (22:45.65). Racheal McDonald placed 30th (23:13.25) with Jessica Delaney 38th (23:22.28), Samantha Humphrey 39th (23:23.57) and Kristie LeSage 49th (23:42.82).

FSU was led at the Northwood meet on the men's side by Max Hodges in 13th place (27:18.09) while the women's team was paced by Emily Pedzinski in 20th place (25:53.72).

The Bulldogs will next take part in the GLIAC Championships on Oct. 24 in Detroit.
