Women's Tennis Picks Up First Victory Of The Spring Season At Home
Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis team pulled out a 5-4 victory at home over Aquinas in non-league play on Tuesday (March 18) inside the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center in Big Rapids.
The host Bulldogs claimed two of the three doubles flights in building the early edge and then split the six singles contests to earn the win.
Ferris State took identical 8-0 decisions at both the second and third doubles flights to grab a 2-1 lead following doubles action.
In the singles round, the Bulldogs earned straight-set wins at two, three and five singles. Aquinas pulled out two-set triumphs at the top position along with the sixth flight in the lineup while picking up a win by default at fourth singles in the match.
Ferris State moved to 9-17 overall this season as FSU picked up its first win of the spring season.
The Bulldogs are slated to play their final dual match of the year on Sunday, April 13, at home against Lewis (Ill.). Match time is set for 10 a.m. (ET) at the Racquet and Fitness Center.
