Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf team will play host to the Ferris State Invitational on Saturday and Sunday (Oct. 12-13) at FSU's Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids.
The annual event will take place on the Bulldogs' par 72 course with action getting underway both days via a 10 a.m. (ET) shotgun start.
Along with Ferris State, the participating teams will include Ashland, Findlay, Grand Valley State, Gannon, Northwood, Tiffin, Walsh, Lake Superior State, Mercyhurst, Ohio Dominican and Ursuline.
Seating will be available just off the ninth green for spectators near the clubhouse.
Ferris State fans will have an opportunity to watch the Bulldogs compete at home for the only time this season, including the talented senior trio of Emily Rohdy, Jacqueline (DeBoer) Mulder and Ashley Swanson.
The Bulldog women's golf squad has placed either first or second in each of its last three tournaments to date this fall heading into the weekend action.
This weekend's event marks the last scheduled competition for the Bulldogs this fall.
Ferris State's Katke Golf Course ranks among the finest University-owned golf courses in the United States. The course covers over 6,847 yards and is the highest point in Mecosta County, helping to define the scenic West Michigan landscape. Katke has won the Mecosta Country Peoples' Choice Awards for favorite golf range and favorite golf course in the area in recent years.
Designed by Robert Beard, Katke Golf Course opened for public play in 1974. The golf course has undergone some major renovations since 2004 and is designed to be a true test for any caliber of player.
