Big Rapids, Mich. - Weather has impacted the 2013 Ferris State University softball schedule once again as Tuesday's (April 23) scheduled Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) doubleheader versus Northwood has been cancelled.
The two-game league set will now take place at the conclusion of the regular-season on Sunday (April 28) with first pitch set for 2 p.m. (ET) for game one at the FSU Softball Field and game two to follow at approximately 4 p.m. (ET).
It marks the second time the league twinbill versus Northwood has been rescheduled due to the weather this spring.
With the change, the Bulldogs will now play their final six games of the conference regular-season at home over a three-day span this weekend.
Prior to the weekend home action, the Bulldogs are slated to visit Saginaw Valley State for a makeup league doubleheader on Wednesday (April 24) starting at 3 p.m. (ET) in University Center, Mich.
FSU then returns home to host Findlay in conference action on Friday, April 26, beginning at 3:30 p.m. for game one of a two-game series in Big Rapids. FSU will celebrate the 40th anniversary of Title IX with a special event being held in conjunction with Friday's action.
Then, on Saturday (April 27), FSU entertains Hillsdale for two conference home contests slated to begin at 1 p.m. (ET).
Finally, the rescheduled doubleheader against Northwood wraps up GLIAC regular-season play on Sunday (April 28) beginning at 2 p.m. (ET).
Ferris State currently owns a 20-12 overall mark to date this season after winning four of a possible six games on the road over a three-day span this past weekend. FSU is currently 12-6 in league play and only a game out of second place in the conference.
