Men's Tennis Suffers First Setback To Toledo

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's tennis team suffered its first loss of the year as the Bulldogs dropped a 5-2 decision to NCAA Division I Toledo on Sunday (Feb. 27) afternoon in Toledo, Ohio.

The Rockets won four of the six singles flights and swept the doubles round, which counted as a single point in the team score per NCAA-I regulations.

Ferris State's lone wins came from Steven Roberts and Tyler Marengo at the third and sixth spots, respectively.

Three of the six singles matchups went to three sets and all three doubles contests were relatively close as well.

The loss dropped the Bulldogs to 2-1 overall this campaign.  Meanwhile, Toledo improved to 10-7 overall with the triumph.

Ferris State will open a four-match spring trip by visiting Chicago University on Tuesday, March 8, for a 9 p.m. (ET) non-league encounter in Chicago, Ill.  The Bulldogs will also then travel to DePauw, Ind., for three matches March 10-12 against host DePauw, Indiana Tech and Rose-Hulman (Ind.).
