Ferris State Hockey Signs Multi-Year Equipment Agreement With Bauer Hockey

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's ice hockey program, which has won a pair of conference championships and advanced deep into the NCAA Tournament two of the last three years, has signed an exclusive multi-year agreement with Bauer Hockey, Inc., the world's leading manufacturer of ice hockey equipment.

Ferris State Athletics and Bauer Hockey recently signed a four-year deal, making one of hockey's most well-known brands the exclusive supplier of equipment and performance apparel for the Bulldogs' NCAA Division I hockey program. The product supply and sponsorship agreement, which runs thru the 2017-18 season, will include such equipment items as skates, helmets, visors, sticks, gloves and pants.

"We're proud to be partnering with Bauer Hockey, which is a known and trusted hockey brand that consistently delivers high-quality equipment," said FSU Athletics Director Perk Weisenburger. "This agreement will further benefit the student-athletes in our hockey program and provide outstanding resources for our continued success."

Bauer Hockey provides convenience and consistent branding to its partners and programs across the country along with some of the most well-known teams around the world. An elite group of National Hockey League (NHL) standouts and athletes also exclusively wear BAUER equipment, including Alex Ovechkin, Patrick Kane, Henrik Lundqvist, Steven Stamkos, Claude Giroux and Jonathan Toews to name just a few.

"We're excited about this agreement with Bauer Hockey and it is another significant step forward for our program," said FSU head coach Bob Daniels. "This exclusive deal will help provide first-class equipment and resources for our student-athletes in the years ahead."

Ferris State Hockey won the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) Regular-Season Championship, reached the WCHA Final Five Championship game and came within a single victory of reaching the NCAA Frozen Four for the second time in three years during the 2013-14 campaign. The Bulldogs were ranked as high as second in the nation during the regular-season and finished sixth in the final national rankings.

The Bulldogs will open their 40th anniversary season in 2014-15 at home on Saturday, Oct. 4, as the University of Michigan visits the Ewigleben Ice Arena as part of FSU's annual Homecoming weekend. It will kick off Ferris State's 37th season of NCAA Division I competition.
