Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University Athletics Ticket Office has announced that student season tickets for all 2014-15 Bulldog men's ice hockey home contests are currently on sale.
FSU students are encouraged to purchase their season tickets in advance as soon as possible as the Bulldogs have officially sold out of all available student season tickets each of the last two years with more than 600 sold for the expanded "Dawg Pound".
All student season tickets are $99 this season and include an official Dawg Pound student section shirt along with a commemorative poster.
Since the launch of the student season ticket sales campaign in conjunction with summer orientation on the FSU campus early this week, sales have been moving quickly. This coming year will enable students to watch the Bulldogs in action for 16 regular-season home games at the Ewigleben Ice Arena as the reigning Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) Regular-Season Champions and also include tickets to the first two games of the opening round of the WCHA Playoffs provided the Bulldogs are at home.
Student season tickets are currently being sold at all university orientation sessions this summer in Williams Auditorium from 12:30 to 3 p.m. (ET) and can also be purchased by calling the FSU Athletics Ticket Office at 231-591-2888 or returning the official student season ticket order form available online (click here).
The FSU Athletics Ticket Office is located inside the Ewigleben Sports Complex and opens daily at 9 a.m. (ET) throughout the summer months. Season tickets for all currently enrolled FSU students with a valid student ID card will be available while supplies last. The office is open Monday thru Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (ET) at this time with extended hours being offered once the school year begins.
The "Dawg Pound" student section has been sold out for 50 consecutive regular-season home contests over the last three years. Overall, FSU has posted 16 total sellouts at the Ewigleben Ice Arena since the second half of a historic 2011-12 campaign in which the Bulldogs reached the national championship game at the NCAA Frozen Four.
During the 2013-14 campaign, Ferris State won the WCHA Regular-Season Championship in their debut season, reached the WCHA Final Five Championship game and came within a single victory of reaching the NCAA Frozen Four for the second time in three years.
Along the way, FSU set a school-record with a nation-leading 16-game unbeaten streak that stretched from late October to early January and the Bulldogs' 29 total wins led the country and ranked as the second-best seasonal mark in school history. The Bulldogs were ranked as high as second in the nation and boasted the nation's Premier Player of the Year and one of the top 10 Hobey Baker Award finalists in goaltender CJ Motte.
Ferris State was the lone team from the state of Michigan to reach the NCAA Tournament and one of only two schools from the WCHA along with Minnesota State. The Bulldogs led the WCHA race for the McNaughton Cup from wire-to-wire and became only the third program ever to win both the former CCHA along with the WCHA.
The Bulldogs will open defense of their WCHA Regular-Season Championship as they begin the 2014-15 campaign in early October. The home opener is set for Saturday, Oct. 4, when FSU hosts the University of Michigan in Big Rapids.
Season and single-game ticket information for the general public will be announced in the near future.
