Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University Athletics Department has announced this Saturday's (Feb. 22) men's ice hockey home contest against the Alaska Anchorage Seawolves is officially sold out.

Limited tickets currently remain for Friday's (Feb. 21) series' opener against UAA inside the Ewigleben Ice Arena. Both Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) contests get underway starting at 7:07 p.m. (ET) as the two teams meet for the first time since 1988. 

The sellout of the weekend series' finale on Saturday against Alaska Anchorage will mark the Bulldogs' fourth sellout at home since the New Year and the 15th dating back to the second half of the historic 2011-12 campaign less than two seasons ago. 

Ferris State is presently ranked fifth this week in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Online Poll along with sixth in the National Rankings. Currently, Ferris State and Minnesota State are tied atop the league standings with 34 total points each although FSU owns two games in hand on the Mavericks with only six games left on the Bulldogs' regular-season schedule. This weekend's opponent, the Seawolves, is third overall in the WCHA. 

"Our fans have always been supportive and appreciative of exciting hockey play," said FSU head coach Bob Daniels. "Now, we're seeing new faces and fans showing up each night so that's good to see. Anyone attending this weekend will see outstanding WCHA hockey and I know our guys are looking forward to these games."

While limited tickets currently remain for Friday's opener in both the single-game and group sales categories, the "Dawg Pound" student section is already sold out as well for both games in what will represent the 46th and 47th consecutive sellouts of the Ferris State student section. 

Bulldog fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance to ensure a seat for Friday's opener as the Bulldogs begin their final six-game stretch of the regular season. Tickets can be purchased in person thru the FSU Athletics Ticket Office located inside the Ewigleben Sports Complex. Bulldog fans can also purchase all regular-priced tickets in advance 24 hours a day, seven days a week online at or by calling 1-800-585-3737. 

Normal business hours are Monday thru Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (ET) with extended hours on Wednesday's until 7 p.m. (ET).

As part of the weekend activities, on Friday night FSU will recognize the Bulldogs' volleyball team which reached the NCAA Division II Elite Eight last fall along with a local Special Olympics Poly Hockey State Championship Team. Saturday's series' finale will represent "International Night" with the Bulldogs partnering with the Office of International Education on campus for the special promotional theme featuring giveaways, education and performances. 

This weekend's league home series represents one of the final two home weekends for the Bulldogs in the regular-season. FSU will also host Lake Superior State in its final two regular-season outings on March 7-8 during "Senior Weekend" in Big Rapids with a special "Buy One, Get One Free" promotional offer available while supplies last. The Bulldogs have also clinched home ice for the opening round of the WCHA Playoffs, which will be played the weekend of March 14-16 at the Ewigleben Ice Arena. 

Presently, Ferris State ranks as one of the nation's top three teams on home ice this year as FSU has compiled a 10-1-1 mark to date in the facility this campaign. Overall, The Bulldogs presently own a 21-7-3 overall this season along with a 16-4-2 mark in the league standings.

Currently, FSU's 21 wins are second in the country and the Bulldogs also have the nation's fifth-best winning percentage (.726). Ferris State is also fifth in the national PairWise and RPI rankings, which will help determine the NCAA Tournament field at the end of the season.
