Limited Tickets Remain As #2 Ferris State Hockey Resumes WCHA Play This Weekend

Follow FSU Hockey:

Big Rapids, Mich. - Tickets are currently selling fast and limited availability remains as the nationally second-ranked Ferris State University men's ice hockey team returns to home ice this weekend (Jan. 10-11) to host the Michigan Tech Huskies in Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) action.

The puck is set to drop on both Friday and Saturday nights at 7:07 p.m. (ET) as the Bulldogs square off against the Huskies for the first time since 1995 as part of what many expect will be one of the top WCHA rivalries in years to come.

Currently, FSU's 15 wins are the most in the country and the Bulldogs also have the nation's best winning percentage and held the nation's longest unbeaten streak at 16 games prior to this past Saturday's setback to Colgate in the championship game of the Mariucci Classic. Ferris State is first in the WCHA standings with a 10-0-2 league record and has yet to drop a league game in its debut season in the conference.

Tickets are currently sold out in several price categories for the weekend series, including the BOGO (Buy One, Get One Free) offer both nights and the "Dawg Pound". Currently, a limited amount of single-game tickets remain for both nights.

"We're happy to be back at home to resume WCHA play this weekend in front of our home fans," said FSU head coach Bob Daniels. "This will be an extremely tough series against one of the traditional WCHA schools and having the Bulldog Nation behind us will provide a big boost as we begin the second half of conference play."

As part of the weekend series, fans will be treated to a special guest appearance from one of hockey's all-time greats. Former Detroit Red Wings' standout and four-time Stanley Cup Champion Darren McCarty will make a special appearance and be in attendance for the series' opener on Friday evening for a book signing and autograph session to promote his new book "My Last Fight: The True Story of a Hockey Rock Star".

In addition to McCarty's special appearance, the Bulldogs will also hold a special "Dawg Pound Appreciation Night" on Friday that will include giveaways, a free postgame skate with Brutus, raffle prizes and more. The Ferris State University residence halls will be open for the weekend series.

Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance as sellout crowds are expected for the Bulldogs' first home action since mid-November.

A "Youth Hockey Special" is currently on sale for Friday only with limited availability remaining. Families of youth hockey players can purchase $6 tickets and the package includes a locker room tour, autographed team picture and a commemorative "Road to the WCHA Championship" poster.

Fans can purchase advance tickets for the Michigan Tech series and save over the normal gameday rates by visiting the FSU Athletics Ticket Office located inside the Ewigleben Sports Complex.

The ticket office resumed its normal operating hours following the holiday break today (Jan. 6) and is open Monday thru Friday from 9 a.m. (ET) to 5 p.m. (ET) with extended hours on Wednesday until 7 p.m. (ET). In addition the box office will open on Saturday at noon.
