Big Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State University Athletics has announced a preseason party for all hockey "Dawg Pound" members, which will take place on Saturday, Oct. 6.
The preseason event will provide the student section group with an opportunity to learn the cheers, meet the players and support two Bulldog women's teams in soccer and volleyball, which both have home competitions that day.
The first 200 "Dawg Pound" members to sign up at the FSU Athletics Ticket Office located in the Ewigleben Sports Complex will receive free t-shirts.
The event begins at 11:30 a.m. (ET) with a free open skate. Skates will be available and all levels are welcome and encouraged to take part.
After the open skate, a meeting will be held at 12 p.m. (ET) for all members. Items on the agenda will include a discussion of gameday procedures, handing out complimentary shirts, guest speakers, cheer instructions and more.
The group will arrive at the FSU women's soccer game versus rival Grand Valley State following the meeting and also cheer at the Bulldog volleyball contest against Lake Erie, which starts at 3 p.m. (ET).
Students are encouraged to dress warm for the soccer game if needed, but be ready to wear complimentary shirts for the volleyball match.

Those students who are not season ticket holders are welcome to attend, but will not receive the free t-shirt.

11:30 a.m. - Free Open Skate (we'll have skates for you....all levels are welcome)
12 p.m. - Meeting in the ice arena Dawg Pound
1 p.m. - Arrive loud and proud to soccer game
2 p.m. - Lunch at The Rock (on your own)
3 p.m. - Continue to cheer (Dawg Pound Style) at volleyball game
