Both of Ferris State's outings versus Michigan State this weekend will be broadcast on 1460 AM and 107.7 FM with Dominic Hennig calling the action and Dan Kowalski providing game analysis.

Ferris State has currently posted a 7-5-3 overall record and is 4-4-3-2 (fifth place) in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) this season.  The Bulldogs are coming off a convincing 3-0 victory at Michigan State last Tuesday (Nov. 23) in their lone action of the week.  The shutout decision represented Ferris State's first ever against the Spartans in their all-time series.  The Bulldogs are 5-1-3 at home, 2-4-0 on the road, and 0-0-0 at neutral sites this season.

The Bulldogs, who are coached by 19th-year head coach Bob Daniels, are presently third among the national leaders nationally in scoring defense (1.93 goals per game), seventh in combined specialty teams (55.9%) and tied for 10th in penalty-kill percentage (88.0%).  Senior goaltender Pat Nagle (7-4-3, 1.73 GAA, .932sv%), a 2010-11 CCHA Preseason Second-Team selection, currently ranks fifth nationally in goals-against average (1.73), seventh in save percentage (.932), and 24th in winning percentage (.607).  Senior defenseman and team captain Zach Redmond (4-5=9) is tops in points while senior center Nate Hennig (4-3=7) and junior defenseman Chad Billins (3-4=7) are both tied for second place.  Billins earned his second CCHA Defenseman of the Week Award of this season for his noteworthy performance in last Tuesday's (Nov. 23) win at Michigan State.

Michigan State enters this weekend at 5-7-3 overall and 2-6-1-0 (10th place) in the CCHA to date this season.  The Spartans, under the direction of ninth-year head coach Rick Comley, suffered a 4-1 loss at nationally-ranked Wisconsin last Saturday (Nov. 27) in a College Hockey Showcase matchup after skating to a 5-2 victory at nationally-ranked Minnesota in last Friday's (Nov. 26) College Hockey Showcase tilt.  MSU has registered a 1-5-0 record on the road and is 4-2-3 at home this campaign.  The Spartans are 3-7-0 in their last 10 appearances, which includes a 1-4-0 mark in the last five outings.  Michigan State is led offensively by junior forward Brett Perlini (9-5=14) and sophomore defenseman Torey Krug (4-10=14), who are among four MSU skaters with double-digit points totals.  In net is junior Drew Palmisano (5-6-3, 2.59 GAA, .907sv%), a 2009-10 All-CCHA Second-Team selection.  MSU presently ranks 30th nationally in scoring defense (2.87) and is listed 38th in scoring offense (2.60).

Ferris State and Michigan State will square off for the 109th and 110th times this weekend as the Spartans have compiled a 66-27-15 all-time series advantage.  Thirteen of the last 17 matchups have been decided by two goals or less with Ferris State compiling a 2-8-3 mark in those outings.  The Bulldogs have accumulated a 5-9-5 all-time mark in December encounters consisting of a 1-5-3 record at home and a 4-4-2 ledger in away encounters.
