A NCAA Selection Show party for the nationally-ranked 2009-10 Ferris State University men's ice hockey team will be held this Sunday (March 21) at The Gate in Big Rapids, Mich., as Bulldog fans, alumni, and friends are invited to attend this special event.

The 30-minute selection show of the 16-team field will be broadcast live on ESPN 2 HD this Sunday, starting at 11:30 a.m. (EDT).  In anticipation of this event, The Gate will be having a "Selection Show" party starting at 11 a.m. (EDT).  A spaghetti dinner with garlic bread and meat balls will be served for $10 apiece with $5 of each meal going to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The Ferris State Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will also be conducting a silent auction for authographed posters with the proceeds going to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

A  "meet and greet" with all the 26 current 2009-10 Bulldog hockey student-athletes in  attendance is going to be held while the coaching staff, hockey support staff and university administrators will also be present.

If selected, Ferris State will be making its second NCAA Tournament appearance in the program's history as the 2002-03 team earned the first-ever berth.  The 2002-03 squad was among the national tourney's final eight teams as the Bulldogs advanced to the West Regional Championship game.

FSU, under 18th-year head coach Bob Daniels, will play in this Friday's (March 19) 2010 CCHA Championship Semifinal-Round contest against Northern Michigan at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Mich.  Opening faceoff is set for 4:35 p.m. (EDT) and the game will be televised live on FS Detroit.  Both the third-place game and the Mason Cup Championship contest will take place on Saturday (March 20) at 3:35 p.m. (EDT) and 7:35 p.m. (EDT), respectively.  The winner of this Saturday's CCHA Mason Cup Championship game receives an automatic bid into the NCAA Championship Tournament.
