Ferris State Men's Golf Places Among Top Six In 30-Team Regional Field

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's golf team had another strong spring showing as the Bulldogs placed tied for sixth overall in the Midwest Regional Spring #4 Tourney that took place on Sunday and Monday (April 13-14) in Noblesville, Ind.

The Bulldogs shot a two-round total of 610 overall in the event, which included a 301 first day score followed by a 309 team figure in Monday's final 18 holes of action on the par 72 course at Purgatory Golf Club.

A total of 30 schools took part in the regional event won by Wayne State with a 596 team figure. Grand Valley State placed second (598) followed by Missouri-St. Louis (601) in the top three overall.

Seniors Trent Davison and Chris Eaton led the Bulldogs as both placed tied for 12th overall with 150 totals over the 36 holes of competiton. Davison carded a 73 in round one followed by a 77 in the final round while Eaton shot a 74 on Sunday before firing a 76 in Monday's action.

Ben Cook tied for 34th in the field with a 153 figure on rounds of 74 and 79 over the two days, respectively, while Zak Kiefer carded a 157 figure good for a share of 80th place. He posted an 80 in the first round to go with a 77 on the final day.

Finally, Sam Stark placed tied for 114th in the field at 162 with scores of 80 and 82 on Sunday and Monday, respectively.

The Bulldogs will be back in action on Saturday and Sunday, April 19-20, as they compete in the GLIAC South Invitational hosted in New Albany, Ohio.
