Ferris State Men's Golf Shares Sixth Place At Wisconsin-Parkside Invite

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's golf team finished in a tie for sixth place overall at the Wisconsin-Parkside Invitational held on Sunday and Monday (March 30-31) at Otter Creek Golf Club in Columbus, Ind.

The Bulldogs posted a two-round score of 605 overall with rounds of 301 on Sunday and 304 over the final 18 holes of action on Monday.

The event was won by Indianapolis, which carded a 586 team score during the 36 total holes of action on the par 72 course. Wayne State came in second (595) followed by Saginaw Valley State (599) in the top three overall. A total of 13 teams took part in the tournament.

FSU was paced by Ben Cook, who tied for sixth individually with a 147 figure on rounds of 76 and 71 in the first and second 18 holes of action, respectively.

He was followed by senior Trent Davison in a share of 13th place with a 149 score. Davison posted a 71 in the opening round before carding a 78 on Monday.

Behind Davison was Chris Eaton in a tie for 32nd overall at 153 on rounds of 76 and 77. Next in line was both Sam Stark and Andrew Jared, who both tied for 57th overall with 157 scores. Stark carded a 79 in round one and a 78 in round two while Jared's scores were the exact opposite with a first-round 78 followed by a final round score of 79.

The Bulldogs' Zak Kiefer competed as an individual and tied for 19th overall with a 150 score. He posted rounds of 73 and 77 over the two days.

A total of 87 golfers competed in the two-day event. Indianapolis' David Frank and Austin Hill of Wayne State both shared top honors with 143 scores.

Ferris State will next compete in the NCAA Midwest Regional #3 Tournament scheduled for Saturday and Sunday (April 5-6) in Batavia, Ohio.
