On the opposite side, Lake Erie owns a current 3-3 overall record in men's basketball heading into Thursday's initial conference contest. The Storm women's team is presently off to a 5-1 start this season.

Saturday's opponent, Ashland, is 2-1 on the year in men's action. The Eagles are also the defending NCAA Division II National Champions in women's basketball and open this week's road trip with a current 2-1 record. Both Ashland teams will face Grand Valley State on Thursday night before squaring off against the Bulldogs.
