Men's Basketball Hosts Calvin In Exhibition Play Tuesday Night

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's basketball team will wrap up exhibition action against the Calvin Knights on Tuesday (Nov. 6) night at FSU's Jim Wink Arena.

The Bulldog men will host the Knights in Big Rapids with tipoff set for 7:30 p.m. (ET).

Ferris State, which is the two-time defending Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) North Division Champion, opened exhibition play with a 61-46 setback at NCAA Division I Loyola University in Chicago this past Saturday (Nov. 3).

Calvin returns 13 of 14 letterwinners from a 2011-12 team that finished 13-13 overall and in third place in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) standings.  Head Coach Kevin VandeStreek's squad was picked third in the MIAA preseason poll.

The Bulldog men's basketball team welcomes back eight letterwinners from last year's squad that won a share of a second consecutive GLIAC North Division Championship.

FSU ended the 2011-12 men's hoops campaign with a 16-11 overall record after winning a share of a second-straight GLIAC North Division Championship. The Bulldogs also made their 13th all-time GLIAC Tournament berth last year, including the program's fourth-straight conference tournament appearance. Overall, Ferris State has won four league titles and made three trips to the NCAA Tournament in head coach Bill Sall's tenure.

Tickets for Tuesday's home exhibition tilt will be sold prior to tipoff at Wink Arena.  Adult general admission tickets are $7 or the cost is $5 for FSU faculty/staff, seniors ages 65 and up or students age 3 thru 12th grade.  FSU students are admitted free with a valid student ID card.  For more information, please contact the FSU Athletics Ticket Office at (231) 591-2888.

After Tuesday's exhibition, FSU officially opens the 2012-13 men's basketball regular-season campaign at home on Saturday, Nov. 17, with a 7:30 p.m. (ET) regional matchup versus the Lewis (Ill.) Flyers at Wink Arena.
