Tickets For Saturday's Homecoming Showdown Currently On Sale!
Big Rapids, Mich. - Tickets for this Saturday's (Oct. 5) Ferris State University homecoming football showdown against Saginaw Valley State at Top Taggart Field are currently on sale and fans can avoid potential lines and save by purchasing in advance.
A large crowd is expected for this week's "Bulldog Beach Bash" homecoming game, which will pit a pair of teams unbeaten in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) as FSU and SVSU both enter the North Division showdown with perfect 3-0 league marks to date and a share of the divisional lead. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. (ET).
The Bulldogs will unveil a new state-of-the-art Daktronics video scoreboard and sound system as part of the day's activities.
This week, both teams are among those receiving votes in the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division II National Poll. Ferris State is ranked 12th nationally in the CompughterRatings.com poll following back-to-back league road wins over Ashland and Walsh while SVSU is 19th in the same scientific listing.
The two teams will meet for the 39th-straight year with the Bulldogs owning a slim 19-18-1 all-time series' edge counting a pair of forfeit victories. The Bulldogs have upset a ranked Cardinals' squad in two of the last three matchups played at Top Taggart Field, including a thrilling 21-17 triumph in the most recent game in Big Rapids in 2010. A year ago, however, Ferris State suffered a heart-breaking 31-24 overtime setback to then 16th-ranked SVSU on the road in University Center.
