Big Rapids, Mich. - Another junior college All-American has joined the Ferris State University football program as first-year head coach Tony Annese today announced the signing of standout defensive end Carlton Johnson.
Johnson officially becomes the third of Annese's former junior college players at Grand Rapids Community College to sign with Ferris State and also joins 33 high school products as current members of the 2012 recruiting class.
Johnson played under Annese at both the prep and junior college levels after being a standout all-state player at Muskegon High School and a National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) First Team All-America recipient at GRCC.
His addition brings the current size of this year's signing class to 36 signees, which includes 31 in-state recruits from Michigan along with three from Florida and two from Illinois.
