FSU Wraps Up Fall Camp With Media/Photo Day

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University football program held its annual Media/Fans Photo Day in conjunction with the squad's final preseason scrimmage on Friday (Aug. 26) at Top Taggart Field on the FSU campus in Big Rapids, Mich.
The Bulldogs welcomed several local media outlets to the event along with a nice crowd of parents and fans.
Team and individual photos were taken in the afternoon and players were also available to fans for autographs and photographs in uniform. Media representatives had an opportunity to interview coaches and players both after the scrimmage and during photo day activities.
FSU Photo Services served as the official photographers for the afternoon photo shoot and captured each player in uniform along with various group and team photos.
The Bulldogs scrimmaged for nearly two hours under sunny conditions before a nice crowd of fans and local media in a controlled situation on the stadium's Mondo Ecofill artificial surface.
While a few key players were limited during the scrimmage, the Bulldogs were able to move the ball offensively at times and sustain drives. The defense also had opportunities to create big plays as the top units battled each other for parts of the scrimmage. Special teams work also took place throughout the morning.
The scrimmage wrapped up the Bulldogs' preseason camp. The players will get tomorrow off before beginning their normal game week routinue on Sunday.
Ferris' three-week training camp period featured nearly 20 practices and two scrimmages along with meetings, lifting, conditioning, testing and various orientation sessions.
Ferris State kicks off its 103rd season of varsity competition this fall by hosting Hillsdale in a non-conference matchup on Friday, Sept. 2, with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. (ET) at Top Taggart Field. FSU and Hillsdale are not scheduled to play each other as part of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) schedule this season.
The Bulldogs, who will play an 11-game regular-season schedule, open GLIAC action the following week at Saginaw Valley State in their first road contest on Saturday, Sept. 10, at SVSU's Wickes Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. (ET).
