Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University Athletics Department collected more than 1,300 items during the inaugural Ferris State Food Fight.

Items were collected in late November and early December by members of the Ferris State Student-Athlete Adivsory Committee (SAAC) and dontated to Angels of Action, a local organization that helps feed children in need.

As part of the Food Fight, university departments, local organizations, churches and businesses had a chance to compete against each other for prizes and awards.

First place went to Ferris State's FLITE library with second place received by the Mecosta-Osceola Department of Human Services and third place awarded to the Mathematics Department at FSU.
