Big Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State University's 2014 summer athletics camp program is well-underway with registrations still being accepted for a variety of camps on the FSU campus this summer.
FSU Athletics is offering various day and overnight camps this summer in a variety of sports including boys and girls basketball, football, volleyball, tennis, golf, soccer, hockey and more.
The camp season began recently in June as schools closed and runs throughout the summer on the Big Rapids campus. They are designed for a variety of different age levels with team camps available for selected sports. All camps are directed by members of the respective Bulldog head coaching staff.
The purpose of the FSU Athletic Camps is to provide individual and team campers with a safe, fun and challenging atmosphere to learn and improve on their skills and knowledge of the sport. The coaches and student-athletes share their experiences and enthusiasm in order to challenge campers to reach higher levels and enjoy the game more.
In addition to the camp schedule, each residential camp also includes various recreational and social activities. Students are housed in university residence halls for overnight camps and are provided with on campus meals at FSU's newly-renovated and award winning Rock Cafe.
The summer camps program has continued to build in recent years with more than 200 teams and over 1,300 individual campers taking part a year ago.
